elcome to the main project page for the Ravnica Commander Project. The project consists of the creation, development, play testing, and refining of ten Magic: the Gathering Commander decks, each of which corresponds with one of the guilds featured in the Ravnica, City of Guilds and Return to Ravnica blocks. Each deck is built to match the ideas, philosophies, flavour, mechanics, and concepts of these dual-coloured guilds. Below you will find a short description of each of the articles, along with a link which leads to the article in question.

City. World. Plane.
Introduction - Article
What is this project exactly? What is Commander? What is Ravnica? Guilds? Which design philosophies made the project what it is? What are the plans? How is the project structured? How did this project get started? What are the goals? What the hell is a 'modular commander'? Such questions are answered in this article. This article will inform you of some of the history of this project, along with its ideas, goals, aesthetics, reasoning, background, and vision. Start your journey through Ravnica, the City of Guilds, and the organisations that grant this city-plane its title.

Izzet League - Article - Decklist
Ingenuity. Obsession. Izzet.
Draconic geniuses, goblin spellcasters, brainstorms that cause actual thunder and lightning. Those are the things you can expect through Izzet's looking glass. Despite their chaos, they introduce method in the madness of magic and use their knowledge, their persistence, their curiosity, to harness the power of chaos and work their future out of it. Led by the ambitious, majestic, and  fiery dragon genius Niv-Mizzet, the Izzet League is all you would expect, want, and hope for from the colours red and blue. This is an unapologetic combo deck, full of moving parts and convoluted plans, which takes the best of blue and uses red to get its fiery and destructive point across. Izzet's knowledge and long-term planning is felt throughout the deck, and in order to win, you must adopt their way of thinking as well. Step through the looking glass and discover all that Izzet's mad science has to offer.

Secrecy. Advantage. Dimir.
House Dimir - Article - Decklist
Spies, cutthroats, infiltrators, thieves, shapeshifters, cutpurses, none of these descriptions do the Dimir any justice. Secretive and extremely dangerous, House Dimir uses all they can, and does not stop at merely copying their enemies. This deck mirrors other decks with Dimir's  bribery, treachery and cloning; it uses its opponent's power against themselves. The more you bring to the table against Dimir, the harder it will be. Led by the shapeshifter Lazav, this black/blue control deck will keep enemies on their toes, but even your enemies caution and strength will not save them. Take what is theirs, make it yours, and hold up a mirror to your enemies' weaknesses. Do you have what it takes to wander the shadows of Ravnica along with the House of Secrets? Enter at your own peril.

Introduction to the Planeswalkers & Ajani Goldmane - Article
Healing. Augmentation. Fellowship.
Not only guilds make Ravnica their home, as wherever a large event is taking place, planeswalkers are bound to be present. The war between the guilds is one of these events which planeswalkers not only witness, but influence as well. Even though the actual Magic: the Gathering sets set on Ravnica only feature several, we suspend disbelief in these articles and have all planeswalkers present. The only question is: where do their allegiances lie? Some are simple, others not so. We begin the analysis of the planeswalkers with the fierce white Leonin Ajani Goldmane, a true child of Naya, and master of healing and augmentation magic.

Consecration. Commerce. Orzhov.
Orzhov Syndicate - Article - Decklist
Ghosts, Spirits, Thralls, and Vampires are only some of the ghoulish members of the Orzhov Syndicate; their living members are perhaps worse. In the churches of the Orzhova, they combine commerce, extortion, usury, and indenture to form their own religion. Maybe the Orzhov once had an actual religion, but that has been lost over the years and is only remembered by hollow rituals and the authoritative power of the church. Led by the Ghost Council Obzedat, this foul religion bleeds Ravnica dry from within their godless shrines. This attrition-based deck, built around the stealing of the life force of your enemies, reflects the patience and inevitability of the Orzhov. They will pledge their life to you, whether voluntarily or by theft. Will you fall for the promise of wealth, power, and eternal life and wander into the Church of Deals?
